WTF is the New Earth and What Does it Mean for You?
Unpacking the great planetary shift that is happening through a few different lenses
The topic of a new earth is vast and complex and may seem “out there”, but at the risk of seeming completely unmoored from reality, it’s becoming increasingly important to talk about it.
Why?
Because the shifts our culture, societal structures, and environment are undergoing are accelerating. Just like with living your personal life, if you default to just reacting, and not consciously intending where you want to go, you might end up somewhere you don’t want to.
Our civilization is doing exactly this. It’s going *somewhere* fast, and it’s time to start defining that destination. Otherwise, we might end up in a dystopian nightmare that only our best sci-fi writers have imagined.
The “New Earth” provides a mental model for us do three broad things:
Understand what's happening and relate to it in a way that gives a sense of agency in the midst of chaos.
Create new stories that inspire and motivate us to take action, whether that's on a personal level or a societal one.
Connect with others who share our values (which is most of humans) and co-create a society that’s best for all. Together we're able to utilize our superpower to imagine a new reality, and start having that inform our day-to-day actions.
But even with these, the idea of whole planetary change seems impossible. This writing is not meant as prescriptive. It’s descriptive of what’s already happening.
There’s three key places I’m seeing this manifest.
Something feels off energetically
This category may seem a bit "woo-woo" to start with, but it's one where you may have felt a shift happening, even if you can’t quite conceptualize it.
All shifts start in this realm of sensation. You can’t quite describe it in words (tell me about it). But there's a feeling that everything is changing in a way that breaks from how things used to be.
It's as though technology, planetary systems, and societal disruptions have reached a critical mass, and something profound is about to shift. We no longer feel like we're on a predictable timeline. There’s no way things will continue to be “business as usual”
Some spiritual leaders have talked about this shift as a translation from the 3D to the 5D, transcending dimensions and accessing our full genius. I like this frame because it talks about seeing beyond what is, and perceiving reality as existing on many timelines.
I see this shift as the awakening of humanity to our potential. And this isn’t happening by choice. It’s a natural force, like lava erupting from a volcano. Consciousness will expand. That’s what it does, even if great force is applied to try and stop it.
With it comes the integration of spirituality into everyday life and the realization that we're all divine beings with access to incredible power and sovereignty. I am privileged to know many of these people. This is real, powerful work that leads to real transformations.
But, with this comes the whole waking up part, which is a hugely dissonant experience. And when I went through mine (as though it ever ended), it felt like I was crazy. Like I knew I was in a dream, trying to convince others of the same. But no one listened. I still feel that way sometimes, as new layers of my messy human experience reveal themselves.
Spiritual awakening isn’t some idealized moment of enlightenment. It’s not something that modern life really allows you to express. There is no one path, but the patterns I’ve seen in my work as an integration guide is about deconditioning - or unlearning the internalized assumptions of society. With that often comes upheaval and disruption in your carefully curated life, as everything limiting about your current identity falls away. It’s like choosing to go through a mid-life crisis continually - and being much much better for it.
Now, imagine millions or billions of people going through this at the same time, and it makes the chaos of our present moment make a lot more sense. There’s no logical roadmap to where we’re going. There are echoes in history where humanity makes a great leap forward, such as the renaissance, but none that have happened with our current context or technological acceleration. We are living in truly unprecedented times.
And because of this, no logical framework really encapsulates it. Which feels really mentally disorienting. But society and its power brokers are currently invested in society being persistent. “They” want you to consume content and stuff and generally stay within the confines of the current systems. As one of the great spiritual texts of our time The Lego Movie says, “Follow the instructions“
If you’re enmeshed in the “business as usual” context, the idea of simultaneous whole system reformation is so outside the bounds of our day to day reality, that the idea sounds ludicrous. Though the cracks of unsustainability are showing everywhere, together we are powerful enough to believe in business as usual.
And yet, one by one we are waking up to the misalignments in society. But, when we do there comes that difficulty of conceptualizing it. So, when people don’t know how to think about something they rely on…
Stories and myths: Or how we try to make sense of what’s happening
"The truly unique feature of our language is not its ability to transmit information about men and lions. Rather, it’s the ability to transmit information about things that do not exist at all."
Yuval Noah Harari's"Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind"
Storytelling is the mechanism through which we generate meaning and make sense of our lives, so in response to something so epic and ambiguous, it’s natural to want to do this. But the downside is that we get too locked into our perspectives, and collapse complexity into simplicity that eliminates potentially aligned paths to solutions.
For example, if we think the real thing holding us back is a certain person with power, then it’s easy to want to just dethrone that person, and then everything will be better. But will it? Or will the same patterns repeat?
Here are some “fantastic” stories:
Astrologers note that Pluto is shifting into the sign of Aquarius for 20 years (coming to for good you Jan 2024).
It’s an age-old battle between dark and light forces in the universe, fighting for the souls of the planet.
Some people think we’re living in a simulation, and we’ll realize it once we reach the singularity.
My story from above, that this is the natural outcome of consciousness expanding in the universe and us remembering our power.
And, if you’re a “more rational” person who doesn’t believe in this new age nonsense, you have stories too:
Many people believe utopia is impossible, and that anything that purports to be one is a secret dystopia. See pretty much every novel ever written that includes a utopian society. After all, it’s a great plot device that make for good drama.
If you believe that utopia is possible, there are stories about what we'll need to do to create it, such as burning everything down or creating things from scratch.
Some believe there will be a massive collapse of civilization, or that climate change or AI will destroy us - leaving the few left to pick up the pieces.
All of these stories get to be investigated, and we have to start with the ongoing stories in ourselves. When you are run by your internalized conditioning, then you can’t actually see other perspectives, even if you think you can.
Our stories are limited by our paradigms. And we can’t shift the greater paradigm without first doing the work in ourselves. Changing “society” begins with us.
And right now our stories about the New Earth are still too simple, too black and white, too reliant on archetype.
Shifting into the New Earth will begin by telling different stories about what is, not just talking about how everything needs to change in “the future”. This is why I don’t think the shift to the New Earth will involve an exodus of all the enlightened people to some oasis. It’s going to be happen here in the every day.
One story that I’d like to catch on: We already have everything we need and more to live in a global utopia.
Regarding that….
But what does this all mean in reality?
Well, eventually planet-wide, systemic change on every level.
Take a moment to really consider that.
It's difficult to grasp what this means (even for a galaxy brainer like myself) because all systems are interdependent, and the details of how they'll reform are beyond any one person’s expertise or imagination.
And many of those systems are dynamic or unstable, so one change in one system means change in many other systems. The proliferation of LLMs for example has broad effects in almost every aspect of society - business, technology, education, politics, monetary systems, jobs, art, and many more. Changes in any one these systems (lets say blockchain-based watermarks on AI generated imagery become law) then ripple back across all the other systems.
So, it’s folly to try to predict exact future events. However, there are broad stroke patterns that will begin to happen.
The first step is the aforementioned personal awakening to connect with one's own purpose and agency. You might think that this would lead to a world of spiritual seeming egomaniacs. The opposite is true. When you connect to your divine self free of conditioning, you automatically inspire each other to continue to wake up simply through your embodiment. As we do this, we connect to a collective awakening, returning to being aligned with nature and its evolution.
This will get expressed in action as people build aligned organizations that empower more people and work to thrive with the planet.
Consumers twill shift towards organizations that are truly aligned and abandon those who pretend to be. Discernment of the “consciousness” of organizations will grow. Of course, there will be pushback, but only to show where there are misalignments in the systems. Progress, like everything in nature, is cyclical.
Certain philosophies will grow and thrive inside this environment, such as systems thinking, self-organization, radical transparency, spiritual sovereignty, and regenerative design. Certain paradigms will start to become commonplace:
Everyone gets to be taken care of just for being alive: That means guaranteed income, food/water, good health, shelter, access to internet, outdoor spaces, community.
People don’t have to work to live. People get to work because it lights them up and contributes to the whole.
People getting to express their unique genius is what’s best for humanity.
We are not separate from nature. We get to be aligned with nature.
Everyone has access to their higher self/source/god. No one gets to act as intermediary.
And many more!
We'll see systems come into place to reflect these values, which will propagate one by one. Systems like Universal Basic Income or Resources, teal organizations, data sovereignty, self-organized businesses, cooperative ownership of resources, remembering and applying ancient wisdom, and many I can’t even imagine in this moment.
An evolving group of humans (and children) with this accelerating level of technology will be able to solve problems that we’ve struggled with for decades or centuries. Fundamental problems that seem like our current assumptions of reality can and will be solved, leading to ongoing radical paradigm shifts. For example, what happens when people no longer need to work? How then do they define their identity?
Some existing systems will be tweaked to allow for different kinds of decisions to be made with the same mechanisms. There's nothing wrong with having evolved individuals represent us in a government, if that's what they're actually doing.
Other systems will completely change because they no longer allow for the kind of collective evolution that is happening. If everyone has everything they need and they feel fulfilled then what is the use of money? I expect to see a massive restructuring of systems in an agile, ever-evolving way that's resilient and open to feedback.
The resulting world will be a utopia, where everyone gets to live without fear.
How we get from here to there?
This all sounds amazing, but how do we get there from here (a.k.a. our late-capitalism technocratic dystopia)?
Well, this is the dynamic of our time and place. There will be a lot of personal and collective suffering letting go of the paradigms that don’t serve us anymore. And some will fight to hold their power out of fear of what it means to lose it. That fight could be intense and protracted, pulling everyone in with the power of a black hole. It may be difficult to be optimistic through all this. As much as I see this vision, I fear for the near term transition.
But those who are doing the inner work now of letting go of their own internalized paradigms, will have the opportunity to choose how to experience this coming shift.
It can be a beautiful embracing of the chaos of the new. This is where spiritual tools such as faith, purpose, intuition, and expressing your own gifts will be so essential. When I say spiritual tool, I don’t mean tools that are a part of any one modality or religion. But, expect those that are the most practical (for me, Human Design, Gene Keys, Astrology) to gain more traction.
This will bring you much needed clarity that you get to share with your people through stories of how it could be. Together we can imagine better versions of our current world. This mythology (connected to real results) will generate its own momentum.
I mentioned also that this IS happening, like a natural force. How that will manifest is natural and social events will force us to solve immediate problems over and over that will show the weak points in our current systems. Like how it’s clear now that social media and the attention economy led to the fracturing of political systems.
We won’t build a utopia because we want to. We’ll do it because we have to.
As the world shakes and re-orients you will be, like magic, perfectly positioned to align with the world once it stabilizes again. And it won’t stabilize in a fixed way (like our current persistent reality) but in a cyclical, dynamic way that aligns with nature. In this process, you’ll learn to move with the currents of reality and the world and let go of any mass-produced stories that don’t align with you.
The fear is that doing this will cause people to become fixated on their perspectives. But by connecting to your divine self in this way and seeing the practical outcomes of it, you’ll be more open to seeing different perspectives from others. Which means we’ll be able to live in a more fully transparent way, with a high degree of trust in each other. A world that at its core, is kind.
Where you come in
I’m writing this because I can’t not write it. It’s an expression of my unique perspective at this point in time. The “New Earth” is, for now, just an idea waiting to be revealed.
And I’m writing this to begin the conversation and call in co-creators.
What’s your piece of the puzzle? If you’re waiting to “come out of the closet” with your “crazy” perspectives of how to make a better world, consider this your nudge.
Comment, DM, or connect with me however you like. And consider subscribing if you want to hear more dispatches from my galaxy brain or you’d like to live in the world I’ve described.
The New New World Order :)
Awesome compilation you've got there, I agree with your perspective.
To me it feels like all of this trial and tribulation leads to the gradual realization that each and every one of us have and always will be in a co-creative role with the universe at large.
All spiritual transformation and healing therefore leads to unlocking this perspective and opening the floodgates of creative genius.
Because this experiential knowledge is so viscerally integrated into my being, it gives rise to purpose and mission to serve those embarking on their path towards conscious creation.
I like how you talk about stories. I always think of it as speaking the same thing in different languages. Each language sitting at a different frequency. Some more grounded than others! But all of them speaking of our expansion. I love the quote “everything’s true, nothing’s real.”
Great post ✨
